## Create Tags ### See the existing tags list: $ git tag v3.5 v4.0 ### Add annotated tag Use `$ git tag -a` to make an annotated tag. *Note: It's recommended to create annotated tag to keep all information like the tagger name, email, and date; have a tagging message.* $ git tag -a v3.5 -m 'release version 3.5' U can also tag some of the old commits: $ git tag -a v3.0 1fceb03 <a name='more'></a> ### Push tags to remote The `git push` command doesn’t transfer tags to remote servers by default. You have to explicitly push tags to a shared server after you have created them. So *(it's like remote branches sharing)*, you can run `git push origin [tagname]`.
